Dangers of cold weather

The salt in the grit used on roads can be harmful to your cats so if they are out please try and make sure they do not clean up their own paws and ingest it – they will be ill.

Make sure all antifreeze if kept secure, fatal for cats and they love the stuff so please be aware and keep in locked cupboard.

Toxins at Christmas

At this time of the year there are lots of plants and foods about that are potentially harmful (some fatal) to our cats.
Plants include Poinsettia, Chrysanthemum, Mistletoe, Ivy, Chinese lanterns and peace Lily.
Toxic Foods include raisins, nutmeg, raw salmon, onions, raw potatoes, raw aubergine and raw peppers.

And the nastiest of all chocolate and paracetamol.

There are many other plants and foodstuffs that are toxic – if you would like to know more please use google.

Take care to protect your pets in the same way as you would a child – they are part of your family.

Lots more cats needing homes

Website now has lots of new photographs of cats and kittens needing homes now. OK our cabins are heated but in these cold, damp, dark days they would much rather have a nice warm home so can you find a little room in your heart and home or find a friend who has so we can get them all homed before Christmas.
